This four seasons room tour has been a long time coming!  It was tough implementing my transitional style with a touch of the outdoors, without feeling rustic or farmhouse inspired.

Home decor can be very exciting and if you are anything like me, you are doing all of the research on how to decorate your home.  As a home decor enthusiast myself, I am giving you design inspiration so that you can be better prepared to decorate your four seasons room.

You are going to see how I incorporated my holiday decor, while still being true to my transitional design style in this four seasons room tour.

This post is all about showing you how I styled my Christmas decor, in my transitional four seasons room!

Four Seasons Room Reveal

Most four seasons room decor is either rustic, coastal or eclectic as pictured below.  In staying true to my design style, I wanted a space that was an extension of the rest of my home.  I did not want pieces that did not mesh well together, or bold prints that made the space appear “too busy”.  Additionally, I did not want to be bogged down with too many raw wood elements.  Especially since I decided not to paint the wood trim.

My overall design is transitional glam.  I love that timeless, southern glam feel, and overtime I hope to do a complete overall of my entire home so that it is one big masterpiece.  The idea of homes having one overall color scheme and decor style, makes me warm and fuzzy inside.  It is almost like your home is a moving work of art.

I have a thing for gold elements, and white, light or neutral colors.  Throw in some florals, and I am in heaven!!

We moved into our home in 2020, and this space has given me a bit of a challenge.  I knew I wanted the four seasons room to be an additional seating area in our home, but I also knew that I did not want it to feel like a closed-in porch.  It happens to be my favorite room in our home.  With all of the natural light and the backyard views, what’s not to love, right?!

The issue was not in the space, but in the design aspect.  I was unsure of how to bring transitional style into such a space as this.  It’s not a family room, but I wanted it to be just as comfortable.  What we did know is that we were not doing curtains, nor would we cover up the floors with an area rug, as the floors are heated.  Furthermore, furniture placement was an issue for me, as I did not want to take away from the windows in any way, shape or form.

The Christmas holiday has actually inspired me to take a leap and just do it!  What was the worst that could happen?

Paint:

The first thing that I knew I wanted to do was paint.  The walls were originally a rust color, that the wood trim seemed to blend into.  We decided to go with a paint color by Sherwin Williams, called Creamy.  It is an off-white color that does not feel too yellow.  I like this color with all of the natural light, because it really warms up the space.  Even when it’s gloomy outside, the space still has a warm undertone.

Theme:

For my Christmas decor, I went with a neutral woodland theme.  I did not want any colors except for my standard gold, white and neutrals.  There are subtle hints of light blue throughout the space, but that’s it.  I wanted to stay true to my decor aesthetic, but also bring the views from outdoors, in.

Tree:

The tree is absolutely gorgeous.  It is a 9ft pre-lit Bristle Fir from Sam’s Club Member’s Mark.  It’s so lush and full that it does not even need decorations.  It was also very affordable at just under $500.  They have this tree in the clear lights, which is what I have or multicolor lights.

Wreaths:

I found these beautiful wreaths at Value City Furniture a few years back.  They were on clearance, after the New Year and I didn’t hesitate to snag these beauties up.  They have a similar option at Target.

Upcoming plans:

In the near future, I would like to incorporate more glam elements into the space.  Eventually, I will swap out the ceiling fan for a more glam inspired one.  At the top of the list of plans, is painting the trim.   I thought that I would like the wood trim, but it just does not fit into my vision for the space.

In the meantime, I am going to enjoy this holiday so much more, now that my four seasons room has had a makeover.
